2/26 Thank you to all our readers

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has followed our story on the blogs over the past months. From time to time, I still hear of someone who is following along or has shared some aspect of our story with someone else they know. We are touched that you care enough to follow the life of our daughter. Until this all began, there were few who knew or cared about her. Thanking you for caring in so many ways and for all the prayers and kind words.

In the movie Shadowlands, the character of C.S. Lewis utters the words, "We read to know that we are not alone". In many ways, I have been writing this blog so that I wouldn't keep all my thoughts and feelings inside. I have wanted to share so much as my life has been so radically changed by all of this.

A friend recently gave my wife and I a book entitled "Fields of the Fatherless" as a gift to commemorate our adoption. We took it with us on our journey to Wisconsin. As we passed through the fields of central Illinois, Kristy began to read the cover. We didn't make it past the cover without crying. Adoption has become such a precious thing to us that it is hard to think about it without shedding tears.

We hope to walk again through the fields of the fatherless and gather others who are still waiting for a momma and a daddy. It is a journey worth taking... those are the fields that I would like to walk through for the rest of my life.

Oh my goodness, the image of you and your wife crying together over the sweetness and dearness of adoption, made me tear up as well! Sniff. : ) (Maybe someone will tear up reading my comment here and we can keep the tear-chain rolling. Wink.)
Anyway, I am Hannah, Tom Davis's (Fields of the Fatherless) sister in law -- Tom forwarded you blog link over to me so I could read it. Im so glad he did! You both seem to have such unbelievable hearts -- thank you for sharing your passion for the orphans and fatherless kids. We cheer you on as you continue to walk 'for the rest of your lives' in the Fields of the Fatherless. : ) May God's awesome favor continue to be with you and the family you lead.

Steven,

I left a huge long comment last night, wait, I should say I tried to leave a huge long comment last night but it was swallowed by the blog monster somewhere between "signing in" and "posting" ... So I'll try again. First of all I am so happy you are back to your blog, it does my heart good. Secondly I would like Hannah (who left the other comment) to know that the tear chain is in full force. On my trip to Michigan last month I too read "The Fields of the Fatherless". Wonderful! I've already shared the book with a friend who read and returned it and I'm getting ready to pass it to the next reader waiting! How blessed we are to be a part of God's big plan for the orphan. When I look at Teddi's picture my heart overflows with thankfulness for the answered prayer of adoption! God indeed hears our every prayer!
I Love Jen's snow picture! Brogan had his "first snow" pictures last month, he loved it! I took a picture of a snowy Michigan field that is very similar to the one you posted. Looking at a stretched out farm field suddenly has a much deeper meaning, doesn't it?

Blessings to all of you~
